Recycling Services for Pharmacies
Whenever possible, we offer our customers to swap cardboard delivery boxes for reusable blue tubs. We also collect wool liners and ice bricks for reuse.
If you don’t already have an arrangement like this, then we are always happy to explore whether this is an option for you.
**Unfortunately, COVID has forced us to put some of the services on hold. But we are eager to get started again as soon as the situation allows.
In the interim check out our recycling guide?
Who Can Participate?
Managing the recycling services across the country is a complex process and every customer situation is reviewed individually. Access to recycling services may depend on the distance for collection and volumes of product.
If you meet the criteria below, please request a call-back and we will get in touch to determine next steps:
- Your hospital is located in a metro area
- Your hospital is receiving regular deliveries
How to Handle Packaging for Collection?
While we keep searching for a sustainable alternative to foil, which passes the validation tests for maintaining correct temperature during transportation.
Woolpack / Wool Liners
Pack all wool liners into a box or tub separate from the ice bricks and your regular driver will take these back with your next delivery.
Ice Bricks
Place all ice bricks in one box and keep them separate from other materials, as the condensation can damage other perfectly good packaging.
Your regular driver will take these back with your next delivery.
Foil
As the foil is used to protect cytotoxic drugs, unfortunately it’s often not safe to reuse.
We continue to search for a more sustainable alternative to this product.
